FS SX Essex Jazz LTD

Sign in to disble this ad
170.00 shipped price dropped//

I am selling my SX Jazz LTD. I bought it as a project. It is the LTD model that has the ultralight tuners, hotter pickups and high mass bridge. It has a maple neck that had the white block inlays. The black pick guard is a fender replacement that has shielding underneath. It has a relic job that is mediocre at best, but not bad, all cosmetic. The neck was darkened with coffee grounds and shoe polish. The chrome was aged from vinegar and steel wool. the back of the neck is sanded smooth and darkened. It has a Fender logo (please don't judge...lol) that has a lacquer coating. If you are interested in specific pics let me know and I will take some more.

I had intended on putting a preamp in it so it is routed out under the pick guard.. I didn't like the sound so it is back stock. It sounds really good stock.

Wow! You aged the hardware with vinegar?
Now I will have to try this...
How'd you do it ...

Do you include a case?

I love the bass!

Put vinegar and water in a jar with some steel wool and let it sit for a wees or so. The steel wool will rust in the vinegar. Put the solution on the chrome and keep reapplying. Eventually it will etch the chrome and make it old and dull looking. It takes a while but it is easier to control than using acid. This is what I did on the bridge and control plate.
