FS: SX sell off! - ALL BASSES SOLD!

Sign in to disble this ad
Howdy.

After playing all my basses all morning, I have decided I cannot let my Frankenbass or my Squier VM go. So...with great reluctance, all 3 SX basses must go. Even my coveted Geddy clones! Sale only not looking for trades...thinning the herd....
Prices as listed or best offer!

SOLDBass # 1
SX LPB fretless. Almost totally bone stock, except I added a Fender string button and black jazz bass knobs. Condition is 97 out of 100 (or better) The bass has the original flats on it. Cosmetically it is almost exactly the way I got it from Rondo. The plastic is still on the pickguard!! There are a few paint imperfections on the headstock. This is the way it came to me from Rondo. Also, I moved the string tree but did not cover/patch the original hole. And the bridge pickup route is just a wee bit wide on the knob side of the bass. You cannot see it while playing it or from 2 feet away. I have seen this on Fender MIA and MIM so it is not a big deal to me. This bass sounds killer but I really do not like the C shaped neck profile and it has been sitting far more than I like...
SOLDAsking $130 shipped

SOLD!Bass #2
Modded Black Jazz This bass is about 95% complete in that the wiring for the pickups needs to be soldered to the pots. It is just wire nutted from the kit. There is also a wee bit of hum, but I have not chased it down. I did plan to shield the cavities and permanently connect the wiring so I suspect that might solve the really minor issue. The pots and wiring harness were done by bayou audio and are 250k pots with their standard capacitor. The pickups are from a Squier CV jazz. The pickguard and black knobs were added and the brass grounding strap is cosmetic. There is also a Fender string button. The bridge is a Wilkinson and very nice. You have to see the figuring in the maple neck and headstock! Cosmetically this bass is fantastic! One caviat is the control plate. It was one I had laying about that came from a friend. It has holes drilled for the pot tangs and a few scratches. I left it as it gives this honey character! This bass also has GHS half wounds and sings! It is modded to look like the bass Geddy Lee plays in the RIO dvd for the song driven.
Asking $160 shipped
SOLD!

SOLD!Bass #3
Modded Black Jazz My precious Geddy Clone. This bass is complete. With an unslotted BAII bridge, DiAddario Chromes, Fender Tuners and fender string button. Totally stock SX electronics. This bass thunders! Louder even than my bass with the DiMArzio Ultra J's! I really love this bass but I play others more and I am letting it go. Minimal fret wear! The fret wear that is there was from when I put Rotosound 66's on the bass for a few months. Still in great shape though. Cosmetically it looks better than a 3 year old bass should. There is one nice ding next to the neck pickup on the E string side, near the edge of the body and this one also has a wee bit of a gap on the bridge pickup at the knob side. Again you cannot see it while playing or from a foot away! But that is about it, the rest of the bass is in great shape and the black blocks are very nice and deep in color!
Asking $200 shipped OBO!
(the BA bridge is worth 80 by itself!)

This is a tough decision for me as I dearly love my Geddy's! I have put a lot into them, but things being what they are (unemployed since April) and the fact that they just sit there means I will move them before I change my mind......as always PM with any questions and all sales final as I disclose everything I know of. Just check my rating here.....paypal if you please.

Prices as listed or best offer!

I want to add that I will ship to our Canadian friends, but with one provision. I loosely figured shipping at 20 bucks in my prices. If a bass costs a notable amount more to ship to Canada, just please pay the difference. You know if it is 32 dollars to ship, we add 12 to the total..... I won't worry about a buck or three....

And the great thing about that tort is it is a stock guard from Rondo. it looks way better to me than the one that came on my Squier CV! It was fun to fit to the bass (good ol SX) but it looks absolutely super! And when I first came to talkbass I was not t tort kind of guy....go figure!

So now I gotta play em both one more time and box em up..... But you guys buying these basses are going to love them.
