FS SX SJB-57 Jazz w/Old Headstock

I TOOK an opportunity that requires me to shrink the total number of basses sitting around. Not GAS, really, but it was good timing.

So now is the time to test the opinion that SX basses have gone up in value (that others have posted about) if they have the "old", non-Ursa, headstock.

I have an "as new" Vintage Series SX Jazz Bass (4 string) in black with a plain maple tinted neck. I had bought it with the idea of turning into a Geddy Lee Jazz model clone. I bought the bound and blocked SX necks, but never really started the project other than taking off the original neck to check the fit of the alternate neck. The bound and blocked neck you see in the photo has now been sold.

Played just a few times for a total of 30 minutes maybe. Sounds great - but I'd put on different strings if I was going to keep it.

White pickguard has the original plastic wrap on it, never removed.

I no longer have the alternate SX black pickguard I ordered with it from Rondo, but the white one you see still has the plastic on it and never screwed on.

This has the tinted "vintage" maple neck.

Reading Chunger's posts have kept me hoping to start this project, but I find myself reading the posts more than working on the project. If you want a brand new SX that doesn't have that Ursa headstock, and you don't want to troll Craigslist for one that is still minty for a long time, only to lose out to someone local to the seller, you may want to consider this one.

This blocked neck you see was sold and does not come with it. The tinted amber neck came with it and is what you will get.

Just to clarify, this is for the bass with the one, original neck that shipped with it - with the amber tint.

Hi, one last price drop before I pull this back. Purchased and stored.

$155 for a 2009 SX SJB-57 Jazz bass, in black. Basically unplayed and mint condition. Maple neck, with the original "old style" headstock.

Anyone interested before it goes to eBay? Nice SX Jazz bass in unmodified condition - it sounded like there were some people looking for these, but perhaps not.

Maybe too many people winning those $500 G&L's?! There have been some amazing deals on eBay, at the same time that more G&L's getting MORE than $800 here!

This bass is still available for $155, with it's maple neck (no blocks, amber yellow tint, as new original condition).

However the black pickguard that was going to accompany it has now been sold (along with the maple blocked neck that was in the photo above, which I had not planned to sell originally).
