TRADED!

A bunch of close-up detail photos: http://www.ev-b.com/bassforsale.html

It's in great shape--nice setup, frets in good shape, neck perfectly good, electronics clean and strong. There is some play wear and light dings, and some tarnishing on the brass parts, but overall looks sharp and plays great. Weighs about 8.5 lbs. Passive, P/J, with strong bright output. This bass will rock your socks, and I bet it can funk/soul/gospel too. It's got rounds on it now, but I am sure flats would sound awesome. Comes with the OHSC, also in very good shape.

I'm asking $500 shipped, which may be a tad high compared to other older BB's in the classifieds, but that's how much it cost me (in trade value), and the case is worth something. You can always make me an offer, worst I will say is "no thanks". For trades, I'm always interested in preamps, compressors, high-end EQ's, boutique effects, and other hotsy-totsy tone gadgets. I'm particularly looking for a nice 3-band onboard preamp, 3 or 4 knobs, not on a Jazz plate. Ideally I'd prefer not to trade for another bass, but if that's what ya got then I like 5-string basses, 32" to 34" scale, under 9.5 lbs. Let me know if you have any questions!

Black. The only time I like gold hardware is on a black bass, it just seems classy that way.

These basses are very sharp and play really well- I actually just played one earlier today at the Trade-Up in NE Portland. I didn't get a chance to plug it in, but I might next time I go in there (I work on the same block) as they have one of those 80s "SkunkWorks" SVTs right now. The Yamaha was a metallic-rust color that was pretty cool looking, but the black/gold is even hotter!

Good luck with the sale!

Karl

What's the neck like on this bass? More like a jazz or a P bass?

Kinda halfway: it's got a 1.6" nut, and a slim feel. To me it feels more like a J front-to-back, but from side-to-side it's almost the width of a "B" P-bass neck.

Ah, thanks! I'd love to be able to play one first. I've bought too many basses that the neck didn't agree with me.

A twin of this bass has been my main instrument for 20 years.
Great sound and feel, I could never sell mine (which is pretty much more battered than this )
