This is a Fender Jazz Bass DLuxe 1997-1998, the fingerboard is Rosewood, lined fretless and it was coated with epoxy by a professional luthier at World of Strings in Long Beach, California. The bass was modified to make it passive and a pair of Vintage Seymor Duncan pick ups were installed. The active electronics were removed to make the bass passive 60's Jazz Bass style. The configuration now is Volume, Volume, Tone. The strings can be installed body thru. The Bass is in mint conditions and have been used just for recordings and few gigs. It is coming with Fender gig bag. I do not have the old electronics but if you decided to go back to active the bass still have the old cover plate on the side of the body to installed it. The bass has an amazing tone and growling and when it was modified I notice that the tone of the bass opened and has an amazing low end and really a good bark on the mid range and you can get that Jaco tone easily. Why to expend more in a Jaco signature model if you can have the same with this amazing bass. The neck is reinforced with two graphite bars besides the truss rod and has the Dluxe tuning machines.
