FS:/T: Lakland 55-60

This bass is less than a year old. I am the first owner. It was PLEK'Ed and is capable of very low action. The finish is very vibrant which doesn't come through on the picture below. The instrument plays and looks incredible. No scratches or dings. Just a few swirlies around the knobs and finger areas of the guard as is typical. I also have a white pickguard that will ship with this bass.

It has Lakland's wonderful sounding single-coil pickups, and an Audere 3-band preamp in it that I installed. Price includes this preamp, and I will ship the original plate with passive controls also. I can reinstall the passive plate and knock off $100 if you prefer. The cavity has been shielded well by me with copper foil tape. I also shielded the bottom of the black guard. It's as quiet as a single-coil bass can be!

There is one string missing in the photo below because I had to steal it for another bass in a pinch. It'll ship with brand new strings, all 5 of them!

If you want to hear this EXACT bass, check out CCM artist Mark Harris on his new album "Stronger in the Broken Places". My friend (and fantastic bass player) borrowed this bass from me for that session as I couldn't fit the session into my schedule. It sounds killer on the whole album!

By my bathroom scale, which rounds to the half pound, she's 11 lbs. The bass has a hefty tone to match, much thicker and fuller than my 8.5-lb 55-60 that has the same electronics, and more than my 9-lb DJ4, which also has the same 'tronics and is going up for sale here today. Thinning the herd. This is not one of those thin sounding jazz basses. She really brings the beef.

Also, I updated the trade specifications to indicate that I'm only interested in a 55-02 with Lakland electronics currently. I'm pretty sure I don't want Barts. Thanks!

I should add that the reason a friend borrowed this bass is because the producer knows it's sound very well because I have used it often, and he wanted that bass on the album. When I couldn't do the session myself, he asked if he could still use the bass. That's how good it sounds. It's a killer instrument, and I'm sure it'll make my long list of regrets for instruments I've let go.
