FS Thumb BO 5 Lined Fretless

I really, really love this bass and think it is the perfect fretless fiver but after buying and selling no less than 4 fretless basses, I must admit that I will NEVER be a fretless player.

For sale is a 1997 Warwick Thumb BO5 lined fretless. It has a wenge neck, ovankol body, and ebony finger board. It plays nice and smooth with plenty of Warwick growl, and honestly the most "mwahh" I've ever heard in a fretless. Incredibly articulate bass. This sale will include a hard shell case that is really good for nothing except protection in shipping, and a leather Levy's strap with straplocks. .

I bought this bass a month ago from crustychef here on TB and it hasnt left my music room since.
Price is $1150.00 Shipped CONUS. No international shipping. It will be shipped fully insured with tracking and heavily packaged. This bass is for sale, but I'm not totally opposed to trades. If you have a new (2012 or newer) Fender American Deluxe Jazz, 4 or 5 string, we can definately talk.

I have a 2005 American deluxe jazz 4 string (S-1).

Did I see two warwicks in your pics?

Whats the sound like? I'm looking for something kinda aggressive but can really sing when I want to get melodic. Also whats the neck like. I tend to go more for the thin Ibanez style necks.

The neck isn't quite Ibanez thin but it is definitely NOT the baseball bat that some other Warwicks are. Neck is straight. Haven't had to adjust the truss rod but I put a wrench on it last night just to check and it turns pretty smooth. As far as the sound goes its pretty versatile. I have owned several warwicks and I'm always disappointed with the MEC electronics. Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised at the sound. I would say that it leans towards the EMG flavor more than anything else. Great sustain. Even sounds good unplugged. I was able to dial in a nice bridge "burpy" sound as well as a an aggressive rock sound ( think Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam). Hope this helps

So, no international shipping. Why?

Every time I've tried to it had been a huge pain in the ass. If I'm missing something I'm certainly open to suggestion

If you ever change your mind let me know. My Warwick is in amazing condition and comes with gig bag and binder. I am primarily a fretless guy now so basses with speed bumps have to go lol

Funny!! Yeah if I was shopping for another Warwick I might take you up on that one. Ironically, every Warwick with the exception of this fretless thumb has had too much neck dive to suit me. It too bad I can't warm up to the fretless.......

Mine is a 2006 and honestly I have not had a problem with neck dive on it.

+1 on the double $$, Thumbs can be squirrly, the 5 fretless I had was certainly one of the nicest fretless basses I've owned. No dive on it either.

Sort of on the fence here. I prefer 4's.
