FS"Tobias Basic 5 pre-gibson Birdseye maple 'PRICE DROP'

Sign in to disble this ad
Here i have a near Mint Tobias Basic 5 pre-gibson made in Burbank Ca in 1991.Has a High Gloss' flamed Birdseye Maple body with flamed maple/purple heart neck with some Birdseye as well.
Its Super clean with no buckle rash or any scratches. There are 3 very tiny bee bee indentations on the front clear coat that wont photograph and the back cover has a small scratch thats hardly noticeable.I don't think you will find a cleaner Tobias! Comes with Original case.I really hate to let it go as these are hard to find especially with Birdseye Maple but i will have to live with my decision.
I have 2300 invested but will take a Reasonable offer. Please No low ball offers. Will ship International.

Price dropped for a quick sale,,2150 shipped!!

If this was 19mm I'd be interested. Worry not, with this price it won't stay here long.
Good luck.

Yes it was neptoon and i pulled it down because not only does it sound great but it has perhaps the best neck of the +26 pre-gib basses i have owned over the years!
These basses are also hard to find especialy in Birdseye Maple + its in new condition!!
Thanks for the nice comments,,

Tobias Pre-gibson 5

Thats all i have at the moment and its my main bass,,Birdeye Maple is a VERY hard wood thats very punchy, clear and bright and with a compressed sound that's articulate. Its my favorite wood combo for the Basic Model.
A lot of pre-Gibson Tobias players prefer the Basic's over the Classic and Sig Models because it has less laminations.
I have owned +26 pre-gibson basses over the years and this is among the best sounding i have owned. The slap tone is very agressive and very glassy and the lows are thick.

I have pulled the ad twice before,,It sounds that good and is in amazing conditiion.

$2,300 for a pre-Gibson Tobias. This should have been gone within an hour. If it was the right wood combination for me, it would be gone toward my house.

It's a great combination - I had a Bassic in quilted maple, serial # in the 700's. Incredible slap tone, fingerstyle as well. Bump!

I own #708 which is also a Maple Basic 5. I can tell you that I have owned a Classic and a Signature, and the Maple Basic had the best tone of all of them. This is an incredible bass at a great price!
