**SOLD**
F/S or maybe F/T. Traben Chaos Core 5 string bass guitar in perfect condition, Black Vapor finish on burled maple with maple neck and fingerboard. This has been my main 5 string for over a year and I have decided to part with it to make room for another Lakland. I have meticulously maintained it and the setup is low and superb. I keep a high quality wax on the body and orange oil on the neck. It is very rare to find one of these in a maple neck since Traben only makes one model in maple. It was made in Korea prior to Traben’s factory move, which means the quality is very good and the playability is excellent. I have never played a faster neck.
I added a dual/stacked/linear pot above the mid knob which is for sweep-able mid frequency selection from 400-800 hz. It has an 18 volt Aguilar OBP-3 preamp which sounds amazing and has tons of punch along with the 5 way selector makes this bass very versatile. It has very convincing Musicman, p-bass, and modern jazz sounds. You can also dial in a big, thick, growly metal sound. When I got the bass I removed the tone strangling capacitors on the bass and treble pots and that opened up the tone and made it much more musically interesting and beautiful. The pickups are Rockfield MM style, which are relatively hot and aggressive but they can be tamed with the Aguilar. This sounds and plays much better than new with no fret wear.
It is currently strung with D’Addario super extra long nickels (45-65-80-100-130) and I installed a string retainer above the nut for added break-point angle. It has Traben’s internal bridge which really does improve sustain. It also has Traben’s truly excellent strap locks.
I’m asking $450.00 OBRO. No case. Will ship to the right buyer. More pictures are available on request. Email me or call 406-697-1295 Specifications:

All of the modifications are very well executed. I do repair, setup and modification work as a second hobby/business.

I'm seeing WAY too much stuff I want! I dont ordinarily like maple boards with dark finishes (especially where the headstock matches the body) but this is niiiice!
Somehow I dont think my LPB SX Jazz w/matching old-style headstock is going to carry the day without some cash on my end...and I just dont have any of THAT lying around because we're replacing 2 cars!

This thing sounds and plays great. I'll be sorry to see it go, when it does. It is in mint condition and better than new as far as playability and sound.
