I have two, all original and very beautiful, 1991 Yamaha BB-5000A basses that I'm considering letting go.
The "cream white" one is virtually mint and I would rate it's condition as 9.9 out of 10. "No chips or dings in the finish at all"!
The "purple pearl" one has seen a little more use but I'd give it a 9.6 out of 10. They are both in unheard of condition for being almost 20 years old. I have never seen any others that were even close to this condition!
Many of you are already familiar with these basses but for those who aren't, these are the last version of the BB-5000 that Yamaha made. They have the much sought after wider string spacing (19mm) and the neck-through design coupled with both a split PU and a J style PU give them a tremendous voice and wonderfully versatile tone.
I am a big fan of the early Yamaha basses as many of you know, and while these were both built in Taiwan, they are every bit as well made and those that were built in Japan.
You no doubt have seen these basses in use by studio pros for many years as they deliver a great sound and phenomenal playability.
I am just finding myself with way too many basses these days and as we all know, great basses should not just sit in the case, they should be played.
I have spent quite a bit on these basses (I have receipts to prove it) and while I don't necessarily expect to recover all that I have invested in them, I am going to ask more than you typically see them sell for. That is largely because of their amazing condition and playability.
So I am asking
$1000.00 for each of them including shipping in the CONUS.
They both come with original Yamaha vintage style cases that were made by G&G. Both cases are in excellent condition!
Here are two quick photos, I will be glad to provide more to any seriously interested parties. As I said, I have way too many basses so trades really aren't an option unless they will net me at least $500.00 cash.
Thanks for looking and PM me with any questions at all.
