FS: Unknown Vintage Short Scale Bass $325 Shipped OBO

Trying to raise some funds for another purchase so a few things have to go. This is an incredible sounding and playing short scale hollowbody bass I purchased not too long ago. This sucker is in amazing condition. A few minor dings in the finish and typical swirls in the finish from being played. On the back of the neck a previous owner taped the names of some of notes on the back of the neck. I do believe the body is laminate and the bolt on neck is maple with a rosewood board. The mute does function fine it just needs some foam. Very light but it does have neck dive. I will post additional pics sometime tomorrow afternoon. No case or gig bag but she will be packed up safe and secure. Asking $325 shipped OBO in the continental USA only. Like I stated previously, I'm trying to fund another purchase so no trades and PayPal only please.

Can the tape come off without damaging the bass?

Hows the intonation? Action?

Weight when you can as well. I've been looking for a HB.

I do believe the tape can come off easily. Action is pretty low but can probably go down a little bit more and the intonation is pretty darn close. I'm sure with a little patience it could be set spot on. Weight is around 6lbs on my bathroom scale. I've played it with just a thin 2" nylon strap with no padding for an hour and my shoulder never got sore.

is it fully hollow or semi-hollow with a block?

any issues with the neck or frets? truss rod functioning?

any issues with pups and/or electronics?

cool bass!

Fully hollow no issues with the truss rod but the 16th fret is a little low and the nut might need to be shimmed. Electronics work just fine.

That is indeed a Lyle, made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan. I have an identical bass (single pickup) that I'm re-fitting with a Gretsch pickup.

Nice body, well made, and those are the original pickups and pickguard. Value is up to the buyer and seller.

I had a '67/68 Aria 1220 Hollowbody about 10 years ago, and the only thing making it different from the above bass was the headstock.
The rest... exactly the same.

And I really miss that bass. Traded it and a Univox Hiflier towards a Larrivee acoustic guitar, which I never play.

Miss that Aria
