I am putting this bass up regretfully because the GAS monster has struck and I can't take it anymore. I love this bass but what I am trying to get will do what this bass does so it has to go. This is IMHO one of the best overseas basses ever. This is what Cort and Rob Elrick came up with several years back. This bass was sweet stock but I added Bart Classic MK5 pickups and a Bartolini 3 band preamp with the mids you can switch to four different frequencies. This bass is now similiar to its US brethren and sounds and plays like a boutique bass. Nice low action and I have not adjusted anything since I got it.
I am looking for $650 shipped. Will come with a nice gig bag also.

Eventhough I have an Elrick Classic Gold ... I still grab my RB quite often.
Good luck with the sale ... shouldn't take long.

This bass is similiar to an Elrick with an Ash body, quilt top, and rosewood figerboard. Obviously an Elrick would probably be more exotic and use more and diverse woods but I think you get the point. The satin finish also lets the wood breathe so you get a very clean and woody tone. One of my best sounding and playing basses I have ever owned.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Apr 2000 Location: metro Detroit | | | Also, I remember seeing these with a high gloss finish and reading somewhere about Rob Elrick being upset with that, and hence a modified version of the the bass with a satin or oiled finish. Looking at the pics, this appears to have either a satin or oiled finish, correct? If so, it is actually a low satin sheen or just oiled wood? |
