Seriously though, I'm not very familiar with these, so I have a two part question.
1. How do the single coils in the 5501 compare to the pickups in a Jazz bass?
2. How do the big singles fat stacks compare to the stock Lakland pickups?
I like the Jazz sound, but it's always a little thin to me, hence my wondering how these compare.

I have this exact setup in sunburst and it is the most versatile bass I've ownedP (Am Dlx Fenders, Ken Smith, Warwick Streamer....). This is a STEAL! I absolutely love the vintage P-bass tones that come from the neck pickup and the perfect Jaco tone from the bridge. Put them together and you have a $3K sounding and playing bass! AND that's before you even touch the remarkable EQ section. I dare you to find a more versatile bass.
Good luck with the sale buddy, sorry you have to let this one go. I've been there.
