FS: US G&L SB-2

Hey Y'all,

Well, I did it again. I overbought, again. 3 more US G&Ls in a couple of weeks. And that's too many - something has to give. I look at what I've got, what I bought and figured out which I wanted to sell. None. They are all "keepers" (how lightly I use that word ). But that's not an acceptable answer and after much pondering this is the one that's available.

It's a gorgeous US G&L SB-2. Ash body with an attractive grain pattern covered with a rich clear blue finish (one of my personal favorites). The fretboard is a very nice birdseye maple. The neck is 1.5" wide at the nut and has a satin finish. Standard vol/vol controls and unknown rounds on it. The strap buttons are Dunlop dual design ones - those are what came on it and I can ship with those in place or put on something else (I think I have some black ones that may be Schallers or some G&L ones from one of my other basses).

The only flaw I can find is a ding on the headstock (see pic). Otherwise it's in wonderful condition. Weight-wise I've realized that although I have a digital bathroom scale that weighs in tenths of a pound it's repeatability/accuracy is not that good. So I'll say it's roughly 9.75 lbs.

It sounds like an SB-2. Take a traditional P-bass add more highs, more lows, more growl and more clarity. Extremely high output, more than many active basses from a purely passive setup.

It will ship in a molded G&L case.

$725 shipped in the contiguous 48, paypal OK

Trades:
Dean Rhapsody HB fretless
Line6 M9
Zoom R16 recorder

Reverend Rumblefish 4: what I would most like to get in trade. I much prefer the PJ but either JJ style would work as well. I can throw in something else with the deal (Fishman Platinum Pro Bass? Art tube channel? Dano Daddy-O overdrive? MXR compressor?) to even out the deal for another 'Fish

Sterling 4 HH
Big Al 4 SSS
G&L Tribute JB2 under 9 lbs
G&L SB-1 (1.5" nut width, under 9 lbs)
Fender Jaguar
Squier VM Jag
maybe a fretless G&L w/1.5" nut width, light weight (L2K preferred) if you catch me at the right time
NS Design Wav 4
maybe an Eastwood Airline map bass
Schecter Studio 8
Lakland Skyline Decade
Lakland Skyline Scheff
maybe a fEarful/LDS 12/6/1 or 15/6/1

I really need to put some cash back in the account. I'd go for a Dean Rhapsody HB fretless in partial trade but that's about it.

added a couple more trade things. I guess if someone wanted to offer me Sterling HH or Big Al 4 SSS straight up I wouldn't say no.

Allow me a philosophical question: If a bass is photographed against something other than a wood floor, can we truly say that it is/was Craig's?

Blue see-through ash, birdseye maple neck, 1.5" nut.....yes, these all add up to a sleepless night in Dayton because this is my 'top of the line', very favorite combination. I'll see "blue" everywhere tonight.

Sorry, shorter days and larger tree kept me from getting pics with a hardwood floor background

I guess if someone wanted to trade a Sterling HS or HH for it straight up I couldn't say "No". Or maybe a lightweight skinny necked SB-1. Or a Rumblefish PJ. Or a Status Vintage HC or GP w/jazz-like neck.
