FS US Peavey Cirrus 5

This is a very nice instrument for the money. It was my first 5 and I'm selling since I'm more Jazz bass guy. I've just picked up another 5 so no trades on this. It's in very nice shape with no dings or noticeable scratches. It weighs about 9.8 pounds and it set up with very low action. It has a new set of Sadowsky Blue Nickles. It ships in an older gig bag CONUS. $475 shipped via PayPal.

You should include in your description that this is an import model, not USA, correct? It's a beauty and in blue....I do have a weakness for blue basses! GLWS!

The bolt-ons were U.S. models, not BXPs. They sold for quite a bit less than the U.S. neck-thru models.

But, this is still a killer price on a U.S.-made Cirrus! And I note that it has the Custom Shop preamp, which I like a fair bit better than the "stock" Cirrus preamp. The Custom Shop pre (aka the Millennium pre) adds a midrange frequency sweep stacked knob onto the Mid boost/cut knob. I upgraded all of my Peavey basses that would accept this preamp. 2 Cirrus, a G Bass, and a G V, and found it to be a nice improvement in all of them (to my ears, of course).

I think the OP is going to regret someday that he sold this bass. They didn't make the BOs that long and they aren't that easy to find, that I've seen.

The bolt on USA Cirruses are kind of rare. I prefer bolt on to neck through so this is intriguing. Not wild about blue, or gold hardware, but nonetheless intrigued by the neck. Is it wenge, mahogany, something else? And what about the fretboard?

Thanks for clarifing this. I would keep this bass, but tone wise it isn't my thing. Like I stated, this is a really nice bass whether it's neck though or bolt on.

I believe the fretboard is wenge.

I found this:http://www.peavey.com/news/article.c...3/20052107.cfm

ps. I could be totally wrong on this, but I *think* I remember that the bolt-ons are 34" scale, versus 35" for the neck-thrus.

Just FYI.
