Hey, folks.
A family member is in some dire financial straits, so since I haven't been playing much in the last several months, this bass is regretfully up for sale.
Early handcrafted model (serial number in the high 200s, shown below).
Frets are brand new, action is amazing. Recently refretted (fully) and setup by the craftsmen at the Lakland factory. Most comfortable bass I've ever played. These necks are magic.
Amazing figuring in the maple in the neck, awesome grain in the quilted maple top. No noticeable flaws to disclose...cosmetically very good, no major scratches or anything. Even the back still looks good. Sounds great.
When I bought it, upon inspection there were a few unexpected issues. The input jack didn't work, the preamp wasn't fully functional, and one of the knobs was scratchy. I took it to Nordstrand and they replaced the jack and knob, and reattached the wires for the preamp that had come disconnected. All fixed.
Next, I had to get it refretted if I wanted the kind of action I thought it should have. So I did, because it deserved it and I deserved it.

I sent it to Lakland and had them do it themselves. It's a beautiful job.
So, here it is. Includes hard G@G case with two keys. Not sure it's the original, but I believe so.
Bought it for $1,900 plus shipping, and put almost $400 into it to make it what this bass should be.
$1,875 plus shipping if using Paypal
$1,825 plus shipping if using US Postal service money order.
I have nearly 300 perfect feedbacks on Ebay and about a dozen on here, all from this year when I started playing. So I describe accurately. Imagine such a thing!
Price is firm. I need the cash. I might consider a partial trade for a J-style like a MIM, but I need to clear $1,500 cash. No other trades, as if I didn't need the cash I would not get rid of this. I may sell my good amp as well, so stay tuned.
