Up for grabs is a 1997 Schecter USA Custom Shop Tempest - the USA shop never made too many basses to begin with, and I'm pretty sure this is probably the only one of these in existence.
This bass is 34" scale, so it might be cool if you dig the EB vibe, but want the clarity and punch of a regular scale instrument. The body is Honduran mahogany (pretty sure it is one solid piece), highly figured flame/birdseye neck with vintage tint satin finish, rosewood board. Contoured neck heel. The neck is is 1.55" at the nut, but the profile is a bit beefier than a regular jazz. Jumbo frets. Hipshot Ultralight tuners and bridge. Neck pickup is a Dimarzio Model 1, bridge is a Kent Armstrong. Vol, vol, tone control arrangement. Schaller strap buttons. Comes with original G&G fitted hard shell case.
Bass has a big fat tone, but isn't muddy. Weighs 10.5 pounds. $1199.00 shipped to the lower 48, Paypal.

I've seen and played a few of the USA custom basses in person as well. When Schecter decides to make them on their home turf, they really know how to dust the competition. It's a good thing for the other made in the USA companies that Schecter doesn't do this with greater regularity.
Nice bass.....Really nice bass.....

| | | | That's a fantastic bass and I'd buy it if I wasn't in Canada, had the money and could handle the weight. There's no contest between the USA Schectors and their offshore made ones. This one is worth the money.
I can just imagine the sound if it had Thomstic flatwounds on it.
Hope you sell it soon to someone who deserves it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
