Now for the sales pitch: Link to my original, brief thoughts on this bass
This bass was built for a good friend of mine who is a 4 string player at heart. He hung onto this bass for over 2 years because it's just that nice. He recently sold it to me, since it wasn't getting as much playing time as his 4, because I told him that if he ever got rid of it, I'd take it in a second.
The gist of it is that I'm an ash/maple guy and even though I love this bass, it just isn't going to get the kind of time it should because of my ash/maple leanings. It is full, tight, and clear and the action is very low, no fret buzz. Slap or fingerstyle, it's all here. There is a ding/chip out of the paint on top of the body, approximately the size of the tip of a sharpie. Neither of us knows how it got there - I will try to get some pictures of it this weekend.
I have owned many a Sadowsky Metro and NYC, and this bass has all the mojo of any RV I've played. It's quite a bass. And it needs to go to someone who will play it.
