Now for the sales pitch:

Link to my original, brief thoughts on this bass

This bass was built for a good friend of mine who is a 4 string player at heart. He hung onto this bass for over 2 years because it's just that nice. He recently sold it to me, since it wasn't getting as much playing time as his 4, because I told him that if he ever got rid of it, I'd take it in a second.

The gist of it is that I'm an ash/maple guy and even though I love this bass, it just isn't going to get the kind of time it should because of my ash/maple leanings. It is full, tight, and clear and the action is very low, no fret buzz. Slap or fingerstyle, it's all here. There is a ding/chip out of the paint on top of the body, approximately the size of the tip of a sharpie. Neither of us knows how it got there - I will try to get some pictures of it this weekend.

I have owned many a Sadowsky Metro and NYC, and this bass has all the mojo of any RV I've played. It's quite a bass. And it needs to go to someone who will play it.

See last post for trade spec's. . .

Just got a PM from Nino, for everyone's info:

Hey Gruuv,

I remember this bass. It's a nice one.

You may want to mention that the bass sells new for $2025 w/a 3-4 month wait. It may help you sell the bass quicker.

Good luck with the sale,
Nino

Here's a horrible picture of the ding, but it should give you an idea of the size - anything else is sparkle or dust:

That sure is a beauty! Too bad my money tree isn't blooming yet. How come these basses always come up when I'm broke?

I was afraid someone might ask weight - this was before Nino began posting weights on the site. But, my expert weights and measurements methodology tells me that it's right at 9 lbs, maybe a hair under.

That's just plain sexy. I've been wanting to switch to a '60s spacing 34" five string. I love my DJ5 but it's just not my "80% tone" (you know, the tone you want most of the time). Too bad you're not interested in trades but this is worth a bump to the top.

Thanks, man... I actually pulled it out tonight to run some "Let's Work" and "Lopsy Lu" and I don't know if I can bring myself to let her go.

19mm - and actually I've decided that for now, I'd only like to entertain trades. Here are the specifications:

ash body/maple board
single coil pickups
Sadowsky, Valenti, Nordy, Atelier Beta 6?

EDIT: No can do - me keepy. . . the only thing to do is pick up an ash/maple and do the compare/contrast deal.

Didn't think I'd do this. Re-opening this, for sale only, because of a certain ash/maple bass that's up for sale right now.

Please note, if my Elrick sells, or the other bass goes before I can grab it, this will be off the market. Again, no trades on this - only selling to pick up this other bass.

Soooo, mixed emotions bump. . .

EDIT: For some reason I am not able to edit any of my previous posts, including the original ad, so. . .

Price: $1650, plus shipping costs
