Would you ship to Canada?
I'm just kicking tires right now...

On Veillette's site http://veilletteguitars.com/ there is a page of sound samples. The Archtop fretless bass sample with piezo pickup only sounds similar to this bass. I'll ship to Canada but we'd need to talk about the added expense.

I played many jazz gigs on a piezo-only Mark IV fretless 5-string with this exact Alvarez preamp. I can attest that the sounds that issue from this axe in the hands of an experienced player are truly compelling. Very acoustic. And it does a great Upright emulation.
The last cut in the sound sample section on the "veilletteguitars.com" website under "Paris bass" is mine (although they used my civilian name...lol...just look for 'Kevin'). It is a one-chorus solo on My Favorite Things using just a room mic. Hope you like it. I had the bass strung with Thomastik Jazz Flats.
I now own the piezo-only Mark IV fretless 6 and it absolutely smokes. I use La Bella Tapewounds that the bass normally ships with and not the Thomastiks. Let me tell you, after the third or fourth tune on these jobbing dates the piano player will look back and say "Wow, what is that thing?". It really blows 'em away.
These Veillettes are true head turners. They are extremely satisfying to play and are totally pro-level instruments made by a genuinely innovative builder: Joe Veillette (with kudos to Martin Keith as well).
I have run out of superlatives for my bass! Everything about these basses screams class all the way. Prospective buyers can have great confidence in all Veillette instruments.
