I will now include the Fender case (mentioned below) and a set of new (in the package) 2x2 Grover Titan tuners with the bass.
Up for sale is my Ibanez "Rickenfaker" Bass. I believe it is a 2388B model & I am guessing it was made around 1975-76. These are often referred to as Lawsuit basses; the Japanese factories were cranking out some really decent "versions" of the U. S. stuff until companies like Rickenbacker finally dropped the hammer on them and put a stop to the practice.
It is good condition; the cover/hand rest for the bridge pickup is missing & The tuners were replaced at some point with a set of 4 inline tuners (the two treble side tuners are mounted upside down... They work fine like this & can be replaced with the correct 2x2 tuners easily). The headstock wing on the treble side had started to separate at one time, but it appears to have been reglued & looks to be solid. There is also some wear/dings/rust here & there that is to be expected from a almost 35 year old instrument. All in all, it is good overall condition. Plays & sound great.
The pickups & electronics are appear to be all original. It has one mono jack.
I picked this up not too long ago, but once again, I have proven to myself that no matter how much I love the looks of this style of bass, I am just not a Rickenbacker guy.
Looking for $600 shipped to continental U.S. I don't have a case, but I do have a 80's (90's?) plastic Fender USA case that is a little beat up that I would include for an additional $35. Either way, the bass will be professionally packed.
Not looking for any trades at this time.
