It makes me cry that this is black ... If it were natural it I'd be on it like white on rice.

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, I don't have any way of accurately weighing the bass here at home, but I'll figure something out and post the weight later today.

If I'm not mistaken, that's not an actual $$. Just saying.

Not sure what you mean. It is indeed a Warwick Streamer $$, unless you know something I don't know and I have been totally misled. I am straight up and honest with all of my postings/transactions and don't want to be perceived as trying to hoodwink anyone, so any clarification on your remark would be appreciated.

I think its because it doesnt have the exposed pole pieces, and has the EMG replacements.

Just swapped pickups.

Oh ok. I thought it had to have exposed pole pieces to be a $$.

I'm sure youre being honest, I thought maybe you just made an honest mistake. Either way, I'm still really digging it.

Thanks for the clarification guys!!! Yeah, the original owner had the bass "upgraded" with the EMG's. The bass sounds killer. I have EMG's in my Spector too, so I may be partial to their sound/tone. But I'm telling you, with two of these monsters, this bass can produce a wide spectrum of tones. Good stuff!!!

I do not know if that is a Streamer LX with swapped pick ups or a Streamer Standard with added EMGs and $$ electronics (due to the switches). are ou the original owner? got some pics of the electronic cavity and also of the headstock?, and serial number?

It is weird to see the dotted inlay. if it is a custom shop then the serial number's would strt with "CS- then some numbers".

that does not look like a Streamer $$. maybe it is me but the first pot closest to the bridge seems to be "too far away" into the body towards the neck to eb a standard $$ with modified pick ups.

Thanks for the questions. I have no reason to believe that this is not a $$. The TBer who I purchased it from sold it to me as such, and I have no reason to doubt him. Furthermore, the pickup configuration is pretty distinguishable. Obviously someone could have had the bass routed and fitted this way but this bass doesn't look like it has had any such work done to it. There is also a plate covering the truss-rod that says "Streamer $$" on it and, again, this could also be an after-market add on, but I don't think that's the case.

I have e-mailed Warwick with the serial number (C-114166-05) and some pictures and am waiting to hear back from them for clarification. I'll post the results when I hear back from them.

As previously stated, I am of the opinion that this is a (really nice ) Streamer $$ with EMG's swapped in to replace the MEC's.

I have attached a pic of the electronics and a less than stellar photo of the truss-rod cover plate. Also, here is the link to the original thread (where I picked the bass up): FS/FT Custom Warwick Streamer $$ 5 string NOW PICS!!!

Please fellow TBers, don't hesitate to ask any more questions or to jump in with your thoughts and reasoning.

I was looking at the pics and the pick ups do look like they were not routed after market so I think that it IS a $$ Streamer but with pick ups and elecs swapped. Nice bass...
the serial number does not indicate it to be a custom shop but maybe it was a special order since it has those fretboard inlays and also it has ebony instead of Wenge on the fretboard... must sound Killer!!!!

the name plate could be after market but since the back is concave and the body looks like nobody has messed with it also indicate that this is probably a swapped elecs and pick ups or ordered like that (I know Warwick can put Bartolinis or MECs but not EMGs so it must have beeen from the prior owner). ALSo going to the original thread it seems that it was bought from Rocketmusic and Greg there does order some custom ordered wics so this is possibly the reason for it.

see this on the serial number:
http://www.warwick.de/modules/suppor...ID=22701&cl=EN
based upon that serial number the bass was manufactured in March 2005.

I have tried Corvettes and Streamers with the same pick ups and configurations (Jazzman, $$ and others) and the body shape DOES affect the sound of it. I love the Streamer's sound (and body shape since I have a belly and the concave back accomodates and hides it).

good luck on it.
