FS Wood & Tronics Chronos "Al Green"

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there,

Unfortunatly I have to part with this fabulous instrument cos of some personal/finance/job related difficulties.
Anyways it's a good thing if someone wants to snatch this special built W&T Chronos up for a good price.
I have owned many beautique basses of all the top brands and this has to be one of the best basses I have owned, it really is a let down to sell it, but I have no choice. It's 33"scale 26 fret and strung E-C with drop-tuner built in 2011. These things sound as good as those Fodera counter parts that are priced considerablbly different ofcourse... Its a very buttery warm voiced instrument that plays really light and easy, if anyone is interested in the music Matthew Garrison or Janek Gwizdala this is getting you there. Here is a clip of a W&T that comes awefully close in sound as the one I got up for sale:

LOW KICK TRIO (BADOGLIO-PASINI-DE BIASI): BLUE AND GREEN - YouTube

Spec's in short:
33" inch scale
26 frets
Mandoline frets
String spacing up to 20 mm currently 19mm (easy for multiple finger techniques)
Ramp
Body wings walnut
Core alder
Neck three piece ash
Fret board ebony
Top figured poplar with W inlay in ebony
Electronics SP2 John East by W&T.
Treb Bass Mid passive tone balance and volume/active
+ passive tone and on off switch.
Dolph dual coil pickups

I'll post some pics in a sec
The instrument was made specially for me and I paid a round 4100 dollar for it. I'll sell it for 3100 thats a 1000 dollar decrease for an instrument that isnt even 1 year old.

I absolutely LOVE the look of this bass, and I love W&Ts as well having a Chronos5 myself. If this were a 6 string, I would take it instantly.

For anyone not familiar with the brand, these are SUPERB instruments as good as any of the other boutique names you would instantly recognize.

Thanks Jim,

I owned another W&T before this one and tried several basses from some fellow players in Europe the quality sound wise is very high on all of those instruments, they must have an exellent nose for tone woods or have a really good supplier for it... Anyways thanks for the heads up!

Regards,

Bram

Nut width?
Could you post a close-up pic of the bridge-saddles arrangement?
Thanks.

Sure Eduardo IŽll get my camera out for you tomorrow...
Nut is 48mm I like wide but slim on the back like my P basses which all have C shape necks gives a bass a darker tone also as I have discovered.

Thanks for the heads up!

Take care
