FS Wyn Custom 6-String NTB / Wenge Neck

$3250.00

To my knowledge there has never been a Wyn bass sold here on Talkbass. I found that to be a bit odd when researching Wyn basses but after playing it, I understand why people don't sell them... I know Abe Laboriel loves his...
(I happen to not be a six string player. If it were a 5er, it would remain a permanent part of my collection)

This bass is less than a year old, is in dead mint condition and plays like a dream.
Weighs in at about 9lbs and balances VERY well.

5 piece laminate Wenge neck through body with 2 graphite stiffening rods. This neck is SOLID!!! It is also very comfortable and fast. The action is super low with no buzz. Yes it growls as much as you can imagine with all of that Wenge!
Think,...the best warwick bass that you have ever heard/played,...then multiply that by at least 10X.

This bass has serious mojo. Sonically amazing, and the craftsmanship is absolutely superb. It can hang with the nicest of the gourmet basses for sure. Randy builds a 1st class bass in every way!!!

Flamed Shedua top on ash body with a AAAAA maccassar ebony board (stunning all around).

Hipshot tuners, Hipshot bridge....

more specs;

34" scale
18mm string spacing
8mm at nut
2 1/8" at bridge
Nordstrand fat stacks
Nordstrand 3 band pre amp

Six knob configuration.
1. Push pull Volume. Down is active, up is passive.
2. Pickup blend with center detent.
3. Push pull tone and coil tap. Down is dual coil, up is single coil
4. Active cut boost treble control
5. Push pull Active cut boost mid control. Down is 400 hz. Up is 800 hz.
6. Active cut boost bass control

Not really looking for trades but if you have something with a value in the mid 3k range that I like, I might consider it...

I am only on TB a couple times a week so if you want a quicker response please email me at drgroove111@gmail.com

Thanks all!

OMG!!! Dude I think you might need to go to the doctor and get your head checked. You probably bumped it pretty hard lol I played a 4 string bass from Wyn awhile back and it was beyond insane. On par with basses costing twice as much easily.

GLWTS. If it was me I would never put it down let alone sell it.

Don J is great, i quite like a video he has saying about the different tonal options on the bass. Plus his fingerboard looks awesome!

Thanks for the comments folks. Indeed it will be a sale I regret. I just don't play 6ers and I have never been one to keep a bass that I don't want to gig with,
sooooo.... someone is going to get VERY lucky soon...

BTW; I recently emailed Randy to be sure that I had all of the specs correct for this posting and when he emailed back with specs and added a few comments.

Quotes directly from his email;

"It's a beautiful bass with a great sonic character! I'm very proud of that one!!"

"It's a beautiful looking playing bass with great presence and soulful tone in what I would guess to be pretty pristine condition"

I see on this bass the bridge pup is way back as opposed to other Wyns. And you're right, this is the 1st Wyn I've seen on TB.

Well, I guess I shouldn't be to shocked but I have a buyer on this one already folks!

I am leaving the thread open until the transaction is complete so feel free to throw a back up offer on the table. Cash deal is preferred over trades...

Thanks all!!!

Indeed, the original owner owner wanted to accentuate the honky bridge pickup vibe so he had Randy hug it up to the bridge. Great sound but in all honesty, when I listen to any youtube video/audio clips of someone playing a Wyn, there is a unique sound to them that is consistent with this bass. That pickup placement DEFINITELY did not take way from the "essence" of the Wyn sound....
