Killer alder/RW 5 string Jazz. One of the best values out there today - I also own a Sadowsky Will Lee 5 and a Nordy PJ5/VJ5 (switchable pickups), and this bass holds its own against them easily. Authentic jazz bass tone but extremely versatile with all the options listed, plays very comfortably with the 34" scale and nice shallow C neck profile, and looks stinkin' gorgeous! The pickup covers have a nice scalloped upper edge that makes a perfect thumbrest if that's your playing style.
Selling because a new Skjold LP5 is arriving Thursday, so I kinda need to thin the jazz bass herd and recoup some cash.
-34" scale
-Alder body in Olympic White
-Indian rosewood board with Luminova phosphorescent position markers (very cool on dark stages!)
-Xotic p'ups (60's position) and Xotic Tri-Logic preamp (same electronics as the highly regarded Trilogic outboard pre pedal)
-Active/passive, master tone, vol, pan, bass, mid, treble, plus a very unique humcancelling/single coil push/pull pot (see explanation below).
-19mm string spacing, 1 13/16" nut width
-Hipshot A style bridge
-Satin neck
-2 mini toggle switches by the bridge gives you the ability to instantly switch between high-mid/low-mid and various treble EQ frequencies.
-weighs exactly 10 lbs by bath scale method (3 trials)
This particular bass does not have the HRI feature (although I'm told it can be retrofitted) but has something even better, IMO - a rare push/pull pot that switches between pure single coil and hum-cancelling mode with the same knob, so you get the best of both worlds. It was installed on this bass for demonstration A/B purposes at the 2012 NAMM show.
Nearly new condition, one small linear ding on the back next to control plate (see pic below) that's only finish deep, otherwise pristine except for the usual very light finish scratching from playwear, not visible in pics. Supplied pics are from previous TB owner (props to basses55!). I can try to get some new ones if needed but it looks just like these since I've only had it for about 3 months and I think he got it new as a studio bass. The bright spot in the pic above around the last trim pot is just the lighting reflection, not an imperfection, by the way.
$1950 US, Paypal OK, USPS money order preferred. No trades, sorry.
Comes with Xotic gig bag, includes pro packing and shipping to lower 48.

finish ding on back - looks to me like maybe the screwdriver got away while working in the control cavity: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...T/P1000019.jpg

And my opinion on this bass has nothing at all to do with me being an Xotic endorser. It really is a killer bass. |

This bass goes from country music, to 50's, to blues bands with ease. Just a multi-talented bass, with many voices, good luck with your sale! Dallas here!

They are and they sound just like true single coils but with out the hum canceling switch or the Xotic HIR hum canceling system, when soloed they really do have that classic 60 cycle hum.
And I personally hate 60 cycle hum.. |
