FS: Yamaha BB2005 (Natural)

PRICE REDUCTION. NOW $900 shipped.

Folks, this is a variation of the BBNE2 Nathan East model, with the NE1 Parametric EQ. Short of dropping over $2k for the BBNE2, this is the only way to get that smooth nathan east tone.

This bass has been played so it has a few dings. There is one right above the fifth fret, one behind the neck, and one at the top of the headstock. At least those are the one I could see. Good thing about a natural finish is such minor dings are not easily visible.

I am asking for $900 shipped to continental US. Not really interested in any trades but you can try. My inclination is towards a 5-string jazz with single coil pups--SB5000, for instance.

Very cool. Were these models made in Japan? 34" or 35" scale?

Here is the ding right above the fifth fret.

This bass is a rare find. Before owning it, I was close to ordering one used from UK--even though it would have cost a fortune.

Samples

The first part is what the bass sounds in a mix--and that's what really matters. I recorded the bass through my SWR Marcus Miller preamp with some highs and mids cut and bass boosted. The guitar is a strat. Everything else is Fantom X6.

The second part is the bass by itself.

I start with the EQ flat, the pups evenly balanced. Then I pan towards the bridge pup. Then I balance them again and turn on the NE-1 Parametric EQ, dialing through the various frequencies. (I was dialing while playing, so sorry for the sloppiness as well as the clipping.) You can see that you are able to dial in everything froma gritty tone to a smooth, crystal tone.

In the very end, I dial in what I consider to be The Nathan East Tone and noodle around.

Thanks Milo. I hope I don't regret selling it--like I regret selling my Geddy Lee, my 92 Stingray, my Jazzman, and so on. :-(

What a nice instrument! How do the buttons work? Vol / tone and three eq dials? Or is it two volumes?

Treble
Mid Frequency
The swith cuts the mids. With the switch off, the mid frequency dial doesn't do anything.
