Trying to raise some funds for another purchase so a few things have to go. This is an early 80's Yamaha BB400 in fair condition. While the bass is structurally sound with no issues with the electronics, cosmetically she's pretty darn beat. Alder body has a few major gouges on the front by the pickup and plenty of buckle rash on the back. The pickup and bridge are original but the pots have been replaced with new Allparts 250k pots and a vintage .33 capacitor. The bass was a little dark sounding with a .47 so I switched it out. The pickup is original and measured at 11k on my tech's meter. The knobs were moved back and the jack was moved to the side. The extra hole was plugged up by Ian at ABQ Guitarworks and hidden by the Woody sticker. Should be easy to remove if you want to add a preamp. All cavities are shielded. The neck is nice and beefy; definitely one of the most comfortable necks I've ever played. There is a shim in the neck pocket on the treble side because the neck was at a funky angle without it. Frets have been leveled and dressed recently. The nut is made of water buffalo horn and cut for the .55-.110 strings that are on her. If you restring her with a lighter set you will probably have to shim the nut. Truss rod works works fine. Tuners were replaced with a set of Fender stamped tuning keys of unknown vintage. Thumbrest is made of rosewood as well as the volume and tone knobs. In the pictures there is a decal of an Asian woman on the back. It has since mostly rubbed off seeing as I've been gigging with this bass quite a bit.since I took these pictures. Dunlop straploks and a gig bag complete the package. $175 CONUS and PayPal only.

If you go to $150.00 shipped I would really consider taking it off your hands. I do not mean to throw a low offer, it's just what's is left in the piggy bank.
