Hey guys. This is in excellent condition, only with some oxidation on the p-pickup blade. I don't have a case for it, as it was purchased nude. However, we can split the cost of a cheap gig bag before shipping. The color is Wine Red, although it almost looks like a sunburst in my crappy pics.
So here is the scoop.
I wanted a BB414 because they are remarkably well made and great sounding for an inexpensive instrument. I was able to stop by Yamaha, and visit with the A&R guy to have my pick of the litter, as I used to endorse the basses.
Knowing that I come from a traditional rock background, he brought out this bb414 to see what I thought. The bass was a prototype, and it sported alnico magnets as opposed to the ceramic magnets they usually carry. It smoked the ceramic pups, more traditional and less 'modern' sounding. Anyway, he let me walk out with that bass. Unfortunately, it never gets played. I'm a sadowsky and fender man.... hence the like new condition. This bass belongs in a home where it doesn't have to compete with pre-cbs fenders. Although it's not a collector's piece or anything fancy, I think it's a really rad bass with an interesting story. I'm selling for the same price that I would sell a 'normal' bb414 for.
