FS: Yamaha BBG5S w/MBT case

This is a violin sunburst Yamaha BBG5S (5 string). I don't remember the exact date I purchased this bass new, but it was some time around 99'-2000. It has active dual soapbar pickups, volume, pan, bass, treble cut / boost--9volt, alder body with rosewood on maple neck, and gold plated hardware.

Bass with MBT hardshell case shipped to lower 48: $300 OBO
(I'll also include the dunlop straplocks I have on it)

I had to replace the input jack a few years ago. It can still be a little touchy from time to time (it sounds like the jack loses contact if the instrument cable is pushed the wrong way), so the new owner might want to have it checked out. (This is not something that happens constantly, but I'm trying to describe the bass as fully as possible.)

There is one nick that goes through the finish near the bridge-see picture below, and a cluster of small dings that do not go through the finish above the pickups (they are only noticeable if you hold the bass at a certain angle--I wasn't able to get a good picture of them).
There are three nicks on the neck, see pictures below (the first picture is of the deepest nick--the other two are more like dents).
Overall, this bass is in very good condition, and sounds great. I really hate to sell it, but I've hit some financial difficulties, and don't play a 5 string often enough to keep it. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!

I may... Acquiesce, providing my amp adventures go as planned. Love my BBG5S and wouldn't mind a backup... Bump regardless!

I'm linking this as a recommended fiver to some people. If my funds recover by the time I'd like them to (though not for a while), I'll heavily consider picking it up (assuming it's still for sale).

SERIOUSLY FOLKS! The BBG5S is a great instrument.

I agree.

I played one of these a few years back at a guitar shop. It was a used instrument that was traded in. I was going to buy it, but the guy who traded it in missed it so much he came back and bought if the before I got back with the money.

This bass is very versatile. I'm a jazz bass guy, and the bass I played could pull that tone off very easily. I'm sure this one can too since its the same model.

Bump for a good bass at a good price.

It's in Athens, GA. I have to agree that this is a monsterous sounding bass. It's very easy to play (and I have relatively small hands!) no matter your style, and is suprisingly fast considering its neck width.

Okay guys and gals...here's the "Official Christmas Bills Repayment Fund" last ditch price drop. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.

Good luck on the sale, wish I had the funds but I have a bit of x-mas debt myself.
