Available for sale is my old Yamaha fretless. I believe this is a mid-80s BB series. I got it in the early 90s.
I believe it was defretted then a rosewood fingerboard attached very well to the defretted neck. The fingerboard is unlined, but there are markers on the side of the neck where every line would be. This makes it a good in-between of lined and unlined.
It has EMG P and J pickups and an EMG BTC preamp, with passive tone control retained. It came with the PJ's and I had the BTC pre added when I got it.
This bass really produces a great "MWAH" sound and offers a variety of sounds between the two pickup types and the passive tone.
It's been around the block and has plenty of mojo to show for it. It was my second fretless bass and was my main gigging bass from ~92 'til 96. I don't play fretless much these days, and when I do, I use my fretless MM Sterling.
I'm thinking $250 plus actual shipping, but will gladly entertain any reasonable offer to get this bass into the hands of someone that will use it.
