FS Yamaha MIJ BB800 $350 shipped

A bit of an odd bird, but a truly great bass!

This bass has a bit of a different sound than your standard Yamaha BB series, probably due to the rosewood board vs. ebony that is on a lot of BB's. The tone of this bass is darker and more "Fender" like.

The bass appears from a distance to be black, but it is actually a very deep green finish. Only in certain lights does it really show. At the top of the headstock, there is small lettering that says "fp".

The age of this bass is a bit of a mystery. According to a Yamaha serial number finder I found it is a 1977-78. I contacted Yamaha just out of curiosity and they said it was a 1987-88. I wasn't aware they were making this model that late. Oh well, maybe someone Yamaha experts can chime in on this. Serial number is 00148*

All original. Someone added a string retainer for the A string at some point. This bass a "player". A good amount of honest wear. Nicks, bumps, gouges, this bass has em'. Frets are in good shape.

Includes original big funky case with green lining.

$350 shipped. Lower 48 only. Paypal cool....

I bet this specific model has a really strong attack with hardly any sustain...

as in fortepiano?? Nah....this bass has sustain for days. Thinking it must be a "Fender Precision" reference of some kind....

Yeah, just joshin...if I was looking for a P, this is what I'd pick up. Yamahas are solid instruments.
