I'm selling one of my Yamaha Motion B MB-3's. This particular one is a project bass.
$100. We can discuss shipping.
For those not familiar with these cool little basses, they were made in the late 80's and early 90's, and are short scale. You can really rip up and down on them, and they sound good too. I'm a big fan of Yamaha to begin with.
I have another one that is white, that I've had since high school. In college, I went crazy on it; tore out the frets, put active electronics in it, a Kahler whammy...and in true college dumb-ass fashion, I did it all with a Swiss Army knife! There's a reason it's covered in stickers now. Which brings us to the bass for sale...
I always said I'd fill in the fret lines, but I never did. Then one day at a pawn shop a few years ago, I saw this purple one. It definitely had some wear on it, but I figured hey, I could swap the necks out with the white one, build the purple THE RIGHT WAY, and have two cool short scales, one fretted, one fretless.
Here I am several years later, and I haven't done jack sh*t
There's are pics of the bass here:

So, here's what makes this a project bass:
- The fretboard needs work. It either needs to be re-fretted, or you need to fill in the gaps left. There are definitely some rough edges as well, thanks to me and Mr. Swiss Army :-)
- The pots are scratchy
- The output jack should probably be replaced
- Two of the pot posts are bent (though they do function)
So, for somebody that wants to take the time, and invest a little (it's really more of a time thing than anything else), you can have a very cool little bass. I've just got way too many projects that I get myself wrapped in to...hell, I still haven't finished my ground up 5 string yet, and I started a year ago...!
I'm located in CT and willing to travel within 50 miles to avoid shipping, should the option arise. I get down to NYC as well, so that's always an option.
I've only had a few transactions here so far on Talkbass, so if you want to be assured of my "rep", you can check me out on Ebay;

Any other questions, just ask. Thanks for looking!
