Zon Sonus 5 string unlined fretless with U-Retro preamp
swamp ash body
figured lacewood top
graphite bolt-on neck with unlined phenowood fingerboard
Bartolini single coil jazz pickups
U-Retro preamp - A really versatile preamp with 3 band EQ and adjustable mid frequency.
34" scale
17mm string spacing
There is a small dent near the bridge and there is some rust on the bridge height screws and on a few of the heads of the neck bolts. Other than that it is in great condition.
The playability is great, by far the best playing fretless I have every played. It is capable of super low action for just the right amount of "mwah".
No trades please. $1800 shipped with hardcase |

How's the weight?

The balance is great and the weight was never a problem for me. |

Thanks! | It doesn't have a truss rod. I don't know the year, perhaps gruuv or another previous owner might be able to chime in with that info. |

Zons with a U-retro are the bees knees. ALL of mine have a U-retro. It makes a big difference. |

Is there any way to tell other than removing the neck? Would the serial number indicate whether it had one or not? |

Ramananda | For what it's worth, I've sent items to Denmark, Germany, etc. with zero issue every time. So long as the item is paid for in full with estimated shipping, and insurance in the proper amount is taken out, there is no more risk sending things overseas than sending them here within the CONUS. If the buyer really wants the bass, give it to 'em |

I prefer a 19mm spacing, but as far as tone and playability, this bass was absolutely second to none. Someone is going to get a sick deal on an amazing fretless! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
