My TV just blew up and I have fallen in love with a 42” plasma at the store, so I unfortunately have to let one of the coolest basses I’ve ever owned go. This is one of the super rare Zon V4B Vinnys. These are only sold direct from the Zon shop and they cost about $2000 new. I’ve never seen another Vinny for sale other this one. So, if you’ve been itching for a Vinny, now’s the time to scratch. I love this bass and it’s really hard to let it go. This has to be the easiest bass to play that I’ve ever owned. The neck is super smooth and fast. I’ve been able to pull off lines that I struggled with for months after I got this one. The balance is superb. There is absolutely no neck dive at all. It has the full Bartolini setup with a three band EQ with a pullup knob for the midshift. I tend to boost the low mids a touch for that super punch P-bass tone. It has excellent sustain and the tone is very harmonically rich. If you describe you perfect tone as full and rich, then this bass is for you. The bass is in excellent condition. The only flaw I can find is some fine buckle rash on the back. The body is ash with a set graphite neck. Zon uses bolt on necks for the Vinny these days, so this one is much nicer. It takes normal strings, so you don’t have to buy the double ball strings. It is currently strung up with a new set of DR lowrider nickels. The best thing about this bass is its compact size. It’s the same size as a guitar, but it has a full 34” scale. It’s super easy to maneuver around with it on and you don’t have to worry about hitting the headstock on anything. I really don’t want to sell this bass at all, but it’s the only one I own that’s worth enough to pay for a new TV.
Price: $1350 shipped in the lower 48. I can take paypal or money order. The bass comes with a nice Zon gigbag and I’ll pack it very well.
Here's a pic from the previous owner. I'll post a couple more later.
Thanks
Mike
