FSO: Barker B1 vertical bass (#33) in excellent condition!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Here we have a very cool bass with a HUGE tone!

I really dig this bass, but my recent decision to become a stay-at-home dad to care for my new daughter has several repurcussions, including my need to step off the GAS-driven carousel for a while.

This was the last bass in, so it's the first to go. It's a killer instrument with an amazing sound, but I need to find her a new home.

Here's the previous owner's listing. He shipped it to me in a special box from the factory. The bass is in the same excellent condition as I received it, which is exactly as the original owner received it from Lee's shop. Check out the links in PO's thread for lots of good info on this cool bass.

I feel like I got a good deal (thanks again Bruce) and would like to pass it onto a fellow TB nut. I paid $1095 + shipping coast to coast ($75.75).

PRICE DROP for quick sale ... I'll let this go for $1149 -- includes $50 shipping/insurance allowance ...If shipping/insurance is less, I'll refund you the difference ... it it's more, you pay me the balance.

Also comes with embroidered Barker gig bag and high quality instrument stand with matching bag.

NO TRADES PLEASE.

**New -- High res pics here**

Please email or PM if interested.

Still need to take some more pics bump.

Someone should snag this thing. Great price on a killer bass IMO!!

Do a quick search to read what the lucky owners think of their B1s ... pretty much glowing reviews... key word = TONE!

No interested parties at all? Really?

I'm not going to give this bass away, but I will entertain reasonable offers.

A new B1 lists for $3795. Granted that gets you a purty cherry top, but a B1 in this condition (as it came from Lee'a shop) for just over $1k is a great deal IMO!! The build quality and attention to detail are superb.

Wish I had the luxury of keeping the Barker, but I'm probably only holding onto one 4-banger -- which will likely be a P bass. But I'm bonding with this bass more and more, so who knows...

photos

Lots of high res pics up finally. See link at the bottom of first post.

Someone should buy this before I reconsider. Do a little looking... these almost never come up for sale, especially in like-new condition for this price!

Humpday bump.

Probably won't go much lower on this one. The more I play it, the more I realize it's worth much more than my asking price!

I need to thin the herd, but I'm not in a huge hurry. Might have to offer up something with more mainstream appeal instead...

Haven't bumped this thread in a while because I have been having major second thoughts about selling.

I finally got some LaBella nylon tapes and a foam mute on this bass and all I can say is -- Wow!! Woody-uprightish-goodness for sure!!

But alas, I'm thinning the herd here. I'm on the fence, but might still be persuaded to part with this one. It really should be a keeper. Amazing instrument for the price!!

I have a feeling if I spend some more time with this one, it may not be going anywhere. So you might want to hit me up quick if this sounds like your cup of tea.

Amazing instrument. How difficult would be for a newbie to learn how to play this?

I have one and honestly I think it would be even easier for a newbee to learn on this because your hands and fretboard are right there at eye level. I love mine !

I forgot to add that I'm a relative newbie and have had no problem adjusting to the vertical orientation. In many ways I find it more comfortable than playing bass horizontally.
