FSO - Fender Jazz Special - MIJ

This is a KILLER Rock Bass! But I alwys seem to have a Warwick or a Stingray in my hands. So off this goes!

I'm not sure of the year, but these came out in '83 - '85 I believe, and was made famous by Duff McKagen of Guns-n-Roses. These are Passive basses, but have a TBX Tone Control. Center detent has Neutral Tone, +5 for Bass, and +5 for Treble, depending on which way you twist the knob. XLNT Tone variations! Bass plays great! Med-Low action, 34" scall, 1.5" at the nut, and the painted neck plays Great! I put the Black Bad Ass II on it, and it will have the original Strap Buttons on when she ships out in a Well Packed GigBag.

$450 delivered to your CONUS residence or business. (Paypal okay if you use E-Check.)

There is some paint missing around the pickup mount...

Bass is a Player, and for a 25+ year old Axe she is in pretty good shape!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Dang it all to heck!!! I had that same bass about 8 years ago and had to pawn it for a $100 to buy car parts. Here comes along another one, and me with the money, but no job at the moment...

I have missed this bass, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Any who... good luck with the sale on a great bass at a great price!

Well I just measured it. And it came out in between... 1 9/16"?

I'll give ya this one, and call it 1 5/8", but it feels like a Jazz neck, not a P-Neck...

This is something I always wondered about since mine is the same as yours. I recently read somewhere that the earlier (black painted) necks had this 1 5/8" nut width. They are definitely not P sized necks in the thickness department, though as they are much smaller in your hand. And it said that the later unpainted necks had 1.5" Jazz nuts...but I haven't had one of those in my hands to be able to confirm.

If only this one was a different color I could justify buying it. Having 2 of the same bass in the same color doesn't make much sense for me. But yours looks very nice and the price is great considering how much people have been listing them for on eBay lately.
