FT: '05 MIA Sunset Orange Jazz Bass for PJ/P bass

Sign in to disble this ad
FOR TRADE ONLY: This is a long shot but I am looking for a 4 string Trans red/sunset orange (or unique color) fender precision or hot rodded pj basses w/ maple necks, rickenbacker 4003's or 4001's, any unique/hollowbody basses, no active basses. I am willing to put $$ if your bass has a higher value but not too much.

Here I have a beautiful 2005 MIA Sunset Orange Jazz bass with the S-1 switch. The S-1 wires the pickups in either parallel or series. Lots of life left on frets. Everything is original. No mods. I have the original white pick guard and the original set of round wound strings. This bass is MINT. There are no chips or marks on the body. There is one tiny nick on the top of the head stock. I just strung it with some medium chromes and gave it a nice set up. Sounds awesome. I am not in a rush to trade or sell.

THANKS!

Amazing. If mine had the maple board I would probably still have it. Just beautiful.

3 Questions

1. What does it weigh?
2. How thick is the neck at the first fret?
Measure from back of the neck to the top of the first fret.
3. If you're interested in a cash deal (for those of us without something tempting to trade for) How many buckaroo$ would convince you to ship it to me?

Lots of trade PM's but nothing that has caught my eye. I would prefer a bass with a PJ set up. Precision bass pickup and a jazz pickup near the bridge. A unique color would be nice like trans red and maple fretboard. but you are welcome to just send me any offers. I am currently only looking to trade. If I see a bass I like it in the classifieds. I will open it for sale. Thanks

Yeah, I own this exact bass. It is delicious. That ash body with the maple board is a killer combo. The S-1 switch gets you closer to a P-Bass tone. In Jazz mode, it growls like a Jazz should, great slappin' bass. Of course it mellows out too.

Free bump for a beautiful bass.

Please explain

Will someone please explain the mentality of someone wanting to trade for another instrument but not for cash (which they could use to BUY another instrument when they found the one they liked)

I don't get that . . .

There are several of us who have expressed a desire to buy this orange beauty already.

Can anybody explain this mind-set to me.
. . . cuz I don't understand.

Thanks.

Trade only

Sometimes when i sell something the cash finds its way to everyday expenses. I find it easier to keep the value in my gear by trading good value for good value. Don't forget your money is just paper or digits really. Things are always things. That is one smokin thing u got there iamdenialNJ!

My Theory

. . . . so it's a question of self-discipline once the cash is in hand . . . . I see.

Well just as a suggestion for those with that affliction, I keep my gear money separate from everything else, in an envelope next to my socks in the drawer. I don't touch it for any other reason whatsoever. It only exists to buy gear. That's my mindset.

You could also try a piggy bank.

Or a separate checking account for the sole purpose of gear transactions. You can get free checking accounts if you look around a little.

If you're a seller wanting to trade, you'll increase your chances of accomplishing that sooner. You'll have the cash ready when you find what you're seeking. That's a lot more likely to happen than finding someone who has exactly what you want and who also wants exactly what you have.

Ya think?
