FT 1965 Eko Violin Bass

Looking to trade my made in Itally, 1965 Eko Violin Bass. I bought this bass in 1995 and now it's time to pass it on. During the last 15 years I've had, it spent approx. 95% of the time in it's case. I have a project coming up the requires a fretless, so I'm looking for a trade.

For a 45 year old bass, it's in good condition. There are a few finish cracks on the body and as far as I can tell, they are just in the finish, no cracking wood. I believe the top to be Skita Spruce and the back and sides Maple. I once read the the necks are Maple with an Ebony finger board. The neck has a slight twist in it. I pointed this out to the guy who sold it to me and he said, "Does it effect the playability?" I replied, "Surprisingly no!" I really like the sound on this thing. I personally think it sounds better than a Hofner. With the 4 way switch, you can select the bridge pickup, neck pickup, both pickups, or both off. With the bridge pup on I can get a very good Jazz bass sound. With both on, a very big round tone is achieved. Now solo the neck pup for an upright tone. This thing is very versatile and a blast to play! If I weren't looking for a fretless, I'd keep it for another 15 years. I don't know a ton about this bass, but I do know there are two currently on Ebay going for over $900. This one does have the Italian certificate/label inside the "f" hole and it's signed. Also the pick guard is not attached. This bass has been adult owned in a non-smoking household.

As I said I'm looking for a fretless +/- cash to trade. The two basses I would love are a Warwick Thumb and a Pedulla Buzz. I would prefer a lined 4 string. And if you have something else, run it by me. The worst I can do is politely say, no thanks, so go for it!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
While I'm new here on TB, you can check out my feedback rating on Ebay. Ebay name: echoes43, 84 transactions and 100% positive feedback.

I also have a Washburn AB-20 acoustic bass up for trade as well.

Thanks!

I received a few questions regarding the scale length of the bass. It's a 30" scale.

Thanks for the comments and the Eko love.
The reason I bought the Eko was for the same reasons Les Claypool did.
"I love the Eko," Les says. "I always wanted a Hofner like Paul McCartney's... I compared it to a Hofner, and it wasn't even close to sounding or playing as good as the Eko."
Taken from Claypool's interview w/ Bass Player Magazine.
