FT: 1979 Ric 4001 Autumnglo

I have a 1979 Rickenbacker 4001 Autumnglo in really good condition. I changed the electronics to the newer push pull tone bypass system and it has a Hipshot bridge on it. I have all the original parts for the bass except the bridge pickup cover. I am not really looking for anything in particular so shoot me some offers.

I have the identical bass, my first good instrument that I bought new back then. Mine has a ncredible slim neck, stable as any bass I've owned if not more so. Beautiful!

Hands down best color on a Ric. I have a 78 Autumnglo I bought new then too but it has a matte finish and black pg. First bass I bought and hopefully will never have to sell it.

Bump for a beautiful bass. This color doesn't come up for sale very often, so somebody go for this while you can!

Thanks for the offer, but that's not what I am looking for. I like Mike Lull P/J, G&L, Fender P basses, Sadowsky, Warwick, Spector, Dingwall.

In '81 I bought a Ric 360WB in autumglo, and have since been keeping my eye out for a matching 4001. And of course here it is when I am not in a position to buy.

Looks just like my '77 4001, except for the bridge. Recently found out that with the gloss finish, it's "Walnut" and with matte finish it's "Autumnglo". Bump for a really nice lookin' Ric!

It's a bit complicated because Rickenbacker had two different Walnut colours at different periods, IIRC. If you polish up the satin Autumnglo it loses it matte finish as well. But that colour from the late '70's is ways Autumnglo, I believe.

I think it's Autumnglo as well. The guy that I received the bass from is a very reputable player and knows his stuff.
