FT: 1981 Fender P

Sign in to disble this ad
Pics will be up soon but here is what it is...

Sienna Sunburst and maple P bass
--neck pocket has stamp date of 8/14/81
--pots date to 1980
--pickups are stamped with 10 3 4 81
--S9 serial number on headstock and also has sticker in neck pocket that matches

COMPLETELY original with the exception of the strap buttons which are Dunlop....

Orig Fender case with orange interior and Fender logo on outside...

Has been played with flats its whole life and is currently wearing a new set of black beauties...there is NO fretwear!

Trussrod works as it should and neck is setup nicely..feels like a 'B' width

Trades...
Pre EB stingray or sabre
Early BC Rich Eagle, Mockingbird (pre 88)
Kubicki X Factor
EARLY 70's Rick 4001

I have only seen this color on 1983 basses so I was quite surprised to find this one earlier...

I will need to measure but it is smaller than the 'C' width P bass and bigger than a jazz which is 1.5....

If memory serves me right, sienna burst is an International Series color, like my beloved Capri orange.

Introduction to Non-Vintage Collectible Fender Stratocasters, Fender and the 80s

Search "Sienna" on the page, and it's listed as a Int'l color. Definitely a nice one.
