Major bumpology...

...I have # 723 - and this is the one instrument in my collection which I will never, ever sell - they are that good.

Sounds like the crack of doom when pushing a big tube rig, like 400+

Seems pricey...but it will out last you and your children too and still be in tune 30 years from now.

For anyone considering the trade option in this listing: I traded my much beloved '75 Rickenbacker 4001 for my Steinberger ('84 XL2A) about 10 years ago and have not suffered even a single moment of regret. If I had another Ric around I'd offer it in trade for this L2, just in case mine ever got stolen.

I still think Ric's are excellent basses, but the all-graphite Steinberger is in a league of its own. Hell, if I quit playing bass altogether, I would still keep my 'berger around as a piece of modern sculpture. In fact, I keep mine on a stand next to one of either my van der Rohe Barcelona or Eames LCW chairs and it holds its own visually with either icon of modernist design.

Groovy. I bought #554 brand new in '82. Sold it a year later. Was a cool piece
