GE-Not really familiar with stingrays so i don't think i could give you a good idea. anyone care to help me out on the tone difference?

| | | | Just My 2 Cents I had a 1981 Sabre with the same Pickups as that. The neck PP has a 16 pole piece like 2 J Bass pickups put together in the same case. The Bridge PU is the more standard 8 pole MM PU that you are used to seeing from them, except covered. The SABRE is the body and neck that later became the STERLING, which also had the 5 way toggle selector on it. As for the electronics... It this has the original pots in it....GREAT!!! The Volume is a 1 MEG Ohm and has a very nice gradual sweep to it and at max volume the active electronics will make any speaker jump out of their baskets. The bridge on the Sabre I had was made from a heavy cast (brass I think) with the adjustable individual string dampeners instead of the stamped bridge without dampeners on the Stingray. If only I had the cash. |
