FT: 2004 Lakland Skyline DJ4 (CAR'n'maple & Aeros!)

Up for trade is my absolutely amazing 2004 Lakland Skyline DJ4 in candy apple red. It has a maple fingerboard and the original Aero pickups. This thing sounds amazing and is easily the best sounding and playing Jazz-type bass I have ever played. The action is set up ridiculously low (even lower than my Modulus Flea) without any rattle at all.

The only flaws with this bass are a few chips in the headstock, a small ding in the back of the neck at the first fret, and some swirling on the back. Other than that, it is in amazing condition. I was told by the previous owner that it was toured around the world by Juan Alderete of The Mars Volta.

According to my bathroom scale it weighs ~9lbs, but it honestly feels much lighter than that when playing it.

I would mainly be interested in trading this for a Modulus Flea 4 or 5 string, but throw anything my way; the worst I can do is say no. I also have a custom 5 string for sale that I would be willing to trade with this bass.

This is the only picture I have at the moment, but if anyone is interested in more specific pictures I will borrow a camera and get some taken ASAP.

Amongst the rarest of the rare... when I got mine I emailed Lakland and was told they made 30 CAR and maybe 10 of those had a maple board.

Yeah, before this one I had never seen a CAR DJ4 with a maple board, and that was after looking up info about them for close to half a year. Definitely a rare beast.

Woo, this is a pretty rare beast! I had a CAR DJ4 with a RW board, it was beautiful and a great J bass. Lakland's CAR finish is really rich and deep, even on the Skylines. I only sold mine to fund a US Lakland.

Made a few adjustments to the setup and WOW! The bass I've been looking for has been here all along. I'm going to have to pull it off the market for now. Thanks for the interest, everyone!
