Got this one in trade for one of my Roscoes a while back, and while it's an absolutely awesome bass, it just isn't going to get much play time, and it's much too nice to be a "bedroom bass". It was only completed a few months ago, so it's pretty much a brand new bass. You can punch the specs in at Zon's website and you'll see what this bass would cost to have built, were you to order one just like it.
Here's what it is:
Zon Sonus Custom 5
Exhibition grade Black Redwood top and matching headstock
Swamp ash body
graphite neck (SO smooth)
phenowood fretboard
17mm string spacing
Zon Barts and 3 band EQ, with push/pull active/passive switch
34" scale
Zon gig bag
The bass is stunning, plain and simple. I can honestly say that I now know what all the fuss is about with Zon basses, they really are THAT good. This one is fairly light, the craftsmanship is flawless, and the neck is to die for. It's in near mint condition, with the ONLY imperfection being a little clearcoat mark in the very top of the face of the headstock (above Zon logo, too small to get to show up in a photo---you really have to look hard to notice).
For trades, here's a partial list options (feel free to run anything by me, just keep in mind I am interested in fretted 5 strings ONLY), trades + or - cash as needed:
Roscoe Century Signature 5 or Century 3005
Sadowsky NYC or Metro 5's
Modulus Quantum 5
Spector US neck-thru or bolt on
Mike Lull M5 or M5V
LowEnd Jazz 5
Fender American Deluxe Jazz (maple board only)
etc etc etc
I am in no hurry to move this, so I am going to be picky. If I don't get anything that interests me, it'll end up getting traded in at Rocket Music towards another custom Roscoe build.
