FT/S '98 Ric 4003 Midnight Blue/Black Hardware

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a Midnight Blue (thanks everyone) Ric w/ black hardware. Serial # puts this as being built in January 1998. Currently has a clear Pickguardian Bridge Pickup Plate; however, the original cover is included. This bass is dead-mint - no chips, scratches, buckle rash, dings, player's wear, etc. (Edit: there is some wear on the inside of the top horn in the binding; just found it yesterday while taking some new pics). No issues whatsoever, weighs about 7.5lbs on my non-digital scale. Open to trades +/- cash, not looking for anything in particular, just something different...

Edit: putting it up FS, as well. Have a couple trades that I'm considering, but enough people have asked, so...$1950 is a good starting point, I suppose. Will certainly entertain reasonable offers, as well as trades. (If the price is unreasonable, plesae feel free to PM me, thankyouverymuch.)

The blue with black binding is Azure Blue is it not?? Or was that the other blue they did with the white binding?

Either way bump for you and the tied for coolest Ric color ever made other than satan's personal Red/black binding Ric.

Midnight blue is more of a metallic colour. Azure is more of a matte. Besides, Azureglo was phased out in the mid/early 80s (but also much cooler!). The binding is independent of the colour.

I had one just like it- midnight blue.
Midnight blue IS metallic, a good bit darker than 'lake placid blue".
That's all it really can be; they did not make that many blue colors.
To me, "matte" is a sheen, not a representation of metallic or solid.
No big deal but it looks like Midnight blue to me.

Been asked a few times; I'm leaning more towards 5-strings, but not against the right 4-. Generally prefer active, but then again...

I know, very general, but I'm not really looking for anything in particular. I love the bass, just looking for something different.
