FT: '99 Warwick FNA (1st year Ovangkol).

Sign in to disble this ad
Here we have my 1999 German Warwick FNA bass. The pickup is a 'lil closer to the neck, thus hitting the beefier sweetspot that Stingray missed!

Light swamp ash body, Walnut? Veneer seperating the stunning Maple top. 1st year Ovangkol neck, Wenge Fretboard, Bell Brass frets. Gold Hardware, nothing pitted!

There are some external scratches on the case. The bass is a gorgeous translucent black that we've tried to capture in the pictures. It has no scratches or dings, not even any belt rash. Weighs in at a mere 8.4 lbs.

This bass also includes the "Slap Contour" which is activated when pulling up on the main Volume. Also are the Slap Contour Presets in the control Cavity where you can control the Mid cut and Bass Boost.

The top part of the nut is not fixed to the neck - it is held in place by string tension. But will NOT move once in place. There is one tab, the other broke off. (Typical issue with the adjust-a-nut II). Bass can be strung EADG or BEAD, your choice. BEAD is awesome and thats the way I played it. The MEC pickup gold lettering wore off, but it is original, (I doube Checked).

For the right deal, I can also include a BASSLINES SMB-4A direct replacement pickup. This will mate with the BASSLINES STC-3M4 included in the production of this bass.

The SMB-4A can be wired Series, Parallel or add a 3-way toggle switch for the ultimate in flexibility. Check diagram HERE.

TRADES I'm looking for? WHATCHA GOT??

Includes hard Warwick Case.

UGH..

Ah, crap, there was a slight mishap as I was rumbling my room last night.
I tweak my basses on an antique sideboard. This has a top shelf. I always remove the bass after I'm done. Unfortunately, I didn't yesterday after setting the truss rod and my multi-tool fell onto it. Not bad at all, I just wanted full disclosure. Here's a pic.

That can most likely be removed. Get a Wet Washcloth & a HOT Soldering Iron.

Set the Washcloth on the Ding, and insert the sldering Iron on the washcloth for about 10 seconds. The Wood will Pull in the Water from the washcloth, raising the ding. Repeat as needed after re-wetting the washcloth. (This is explained on the Warwick Forums as well)

WOW!

I've always like Warwicks but for some reason this particular bass REALLY strikes me as more beautiful than others. Unfortunately can't afford it lol.

BTW, I've had a few of these, both 4 & 5 string. They kick the EBMM sound out with that unmistable "Growl". Plus they are a shade Lighter, IIRC!!!

Thanks madman. I fully agree. I love the Pull switch. It doesn't have to be a "Slap" switch either. Depending on how you set the adjustments in the rear, you can change the tone dramatically with one move.

fdeeptone... PM's answered!
