For trade or sale Alembic Mark King signature 5 string. I have had this instrument about 4 years and lately it has been sitting collecting dust. It is physically beautiful and plays even better. My playing style has changed since I got it and I hate to see it not being used. It has more than enough tone variation to cover any style but it shines as a Jazz and/or blues situation. I used it for every style but my thoughts on playing has changed along with the equipment that I use.

Body wood: Mahogany
Back laminate: Coco Bolo
Neck Woods: Maple/Purpleheart/Ebony
Scale length: 34"
Fingerboard wood: Ebony
Inlays: Abalone
Machine Heads: Gold
Finish: Clean gloss body with Satin neck
Electronics: Signature series.
Custom Features: Heart body tail and side LEDs' Red with Amber at the 12th and 24th fret.

Retail: $11,525

The signature electronics are no longer available from Alembic (not sure why), I was informed by Alembic that it is no longer an option. Volume and tone pot for each pickup. Pick up selector switch, boost switch and LED neck light switch. Comes with complete registration and warranty paperwork, all the original adjustment tools. This item is in pristine condition, as I keep all my gear as top notch as humanly possible. The only flaw to this item is the hardshell case, the center snap no longer has tension. This is not an issue the other two locks are secure and when the instrument is in the case the center clasp snaps over and holds securely as well (refer to picture).

I am looking to trade for ONLY the following. A Fodera Monarch Deluxe preferably a 5 string or a specific look in a four string. A Fodera Ying Yang deluxe, possibly any 5 string Fodera deluxe models.

Wow. If I were ordering another Alembic, this is 90% dead nuts to what I'd order. Only things I'd do different are a recessed logo and "Omega" cut on the headstock.

Bump for a beautiful bass It looks like the Signature electronics are still available in the custom quote generator (for the King models anyway) , I guess they haven't updated that yet.

That's interesting...the information came from Alembic on a phone call. But who knows they probably would offer it if the money was there.

Thats an absolutely EXQUISITE instrument....
but like many others, the ONLY way I'm getting this bass is if I hit Powerball or MegaMillions sometime very soon.
