I love this bass, i really do not want to part with it, but for my current gig I need an Ernie ball musicman stingray 5, H, HH, or HS, I may even consider a sterling 5 also.

This G&L bass is a late 2008 version and is pretty much mint condition, no nicks, scratches, etc. I have all paper work, and original hardshell case and the case is in good shape, plus it has dunlop strap locks installed.

It is 9.5 lbs, swamp ash wood (I payed extra for that) and I believe it is 17.5 mm for the string spacing (the neck is real similar to a stingray 5 neck) and it is 34 inch scale length.

Has a Brand new Set of DR. Long Neck strings on it.

Sweet bass. I am surprised, though. I played my L-2500 last week back to back with an SR5 H. I thought the sounds were similar. More specifically, it seemed like the 2500 could get almost exactly the SR5 tone, but then offered additional options.

It gets very close to the SR5, jazz, and P bass tone, and sounds huge, I think it is the SR5 EQ, pickup placement and pre amp that make the difference in the tone.

I have played both the G&L L2500 and the Stingray 5 side by side, and I love both but they do both sound a little different from each other, I wish I could own both to be honest. one thing that rocks about the G&L is its options, and I love how it can go in passive mode and hardly lose volume, that is a nice option if your battery were to ever die on stage, even though it never happened to me, but if it had I would have still been good, and I like how the eq still works in passive mode plus the series/parallel options are great, and you hit the high boost switch and its great for slap playing.

Any chance you could try a G&L L1505? Basically the same pickup placement as the SR5, but the incredibly awesome MFD pickup.

I've got several L2500s already and love them, but there is something to the MM sweetspot that these don't capture. However, I'd seek out an L1505 before an SR5, personally.

Of course, if the producer and MD want you playing MM, can you argue? (assuming they are actually paying you to play. If not, well...).

Good luck. Sweet bass!

Thanks for the offer but I got to stick with a musicman, I like to experiment with basses, but I need the real deal.
