FT: Black 1979 Fretless P-bass
 

1979 Fender fretless P-bass as the title says. Comes with hard case. Currently strung with LaBella 760n Tapewound Nylon strings.

There are 2 noticeable blemishes that I'm aware of as shown on the pictures: at the top of the headstock there is some sign of wear, and there's a single small dent on the top end of the face. They are both minor and can be seen in the photos.

The apparent scuffs on the pickguard in the photo are fingerprints, not marks.

I am looking to trade for a, preferably, fretless jazz bass of reasonable quality, or a Tony Franklin fretless p-bass + cash.

Just out of curiosity, what is that thing below the strings?

I thought it was a thumb rest, but can't quite figure it out.

It is the rest. The original players used their thumbs to pluck. The rest was for the first two fingers to provide leverage.
