FT: Black Sparkle StingRay 5

I have wanted this bass in this color (black sparkle with rosewood and matching headstock) for years. It took me years to find one for sale. Im not one to use an items rarity as a selling point usually, but another one like this will honestly be hard to come by. If I could keep this one, I would. However, my main SR5 has a bunch of sentimental value. I need another flavor in the stable and have some things Id like to try, or this one would be a keeper.

In good overall condition. No functional issues at all. Plays and sounds great. This is a fine example of how a StingRay 5 should feel, sound and play. Not sure of the weight, but Id have to guess right around 10 pounds. One of the lighter SR5s Ive come across. Has black Dunlop straplocks (no orig. buttons). Original hardshell case included.

The only real issues are cosmetic, and may or may not be issues for you. Both should be easy fixes. The tuning pegs have tarnished a bit. They just werent wiped down seemingly. You can get replacements from EB Cust. Service if its that big of a deal to you. The second is that there is a little rust on the pickup pole pieces and just a couple very small spots on the bridge. I have had a couple EBMM basses with rust on the pole pieces before. In one instance I just lightly rubbed it with a high grit sandpaper and that took care of the issue. All that said, these things are minor. The pics will show you the severity. I always try to be 100% in detail when I sell, because I dont want there to be ANY surprises.

CONT US ONLY PLEASE, NO EXCEPTIONS, AT ALL

Not sure if I want to sell, but Id like some trade bait please. Im most interested in:

-20th Anniversary StingRay5
-any EBMM with the Ltd BFR Rosewood neck
-the right EBMM Big Al (interesting colors are a bonus)
-the rightdual pickup StingRay 4/5 or Sterling 4/5
-the right Single H Bongo (must be a 5 for this one)

-a players (not looking for a collector piece) 70s Precision.

-open to amp heads (no cabs unless you have a MINT Berg HS410). No SWR or MarkBass, sorry.

While Travis may be insane for giving this up, you'd be hard pressed to find a better guy to deal with. Bump for a good bass and a great guy.

That's a gorgeous Ray. Don't have anything on your list to trade for it, though.

Wow, You WILL not see another one of these ever.

I bet this is like 1 of 2 SR5's in that color.

I have a friend with a 1 of 1 luke in this color.

Good luck!!!

I looked for this color config for 5 years. Ive seen one forum member with one and he would not sell it. There are a couple more with maple boards, but rosewood WITH matching headstock is indeed very, very rare. I was told by someone in the know that his guess was "easily less than 5" in this config. Its a great SR5 all around, and Im honestly a little bummed to off it.

Looks like a deal is brewing though, and I have other needs.
