Got this in a trade recently, and enjoy the tone, but ultimately I don't think I'll play it before my sadowsky, so I'm going to put it on the trading block.
This bass definitely has mojo! It is the FIRST J(unk) bass that was built for Maurice Fitzgerald in 2007. Finish checking on bottom of body and quite a few cosmetic dings, but nothing that hinders playability. If you want a showroom bass this isn't it, but it plays and sounds great.
Has sadowsky pre w/ redeemer circuit and Nordy NJ5 pups. I just put on a new set of dunlop nickels that sound great...I also got a MM5 pup cover and installed it into holes that were already on the bass (not a perfect fit but it works). Also, the only case I have is a beat up Warwick rockbag, but I would be up for shipping the bass back to you in your own case if that works. And local deals are always a plus...
Here is the previous owners thread with more details and more pics: FT/FS CallowHill J(unk) 5 for Vintage Fender
Some borrowed pics until I can get some of my own:
Sale price is $2500 $2300 $2200 $2100 shipped (Cheaper if you're local)
Will trade plus cash for the right Sadowsky NYC 5-er.

| | | | seriously interested. what's the weight on that axe. i have a really bad back. can you post audio?
i'm interested but don't really want to trade out anything i own except maybe a 5 string musicman w/ custom touring setup (factory process, for traveling pros, neck will never warp due to change of climate or altitude). i don't use it but it is hard to get rid of anything.
why is the sadowsky preferable to this for you?

As for why I would choose my sadowsky over this, I think there is just something about the alder, morado, PJ set up that does it for me. I may end up keeping this guy though as it is a great bass.
Really only interested in trade right now, but I'd put the trade value between $2000-$2500.

| | | | thanks for the info.
that would be a back breaker for me. i can't go w/ anything heavier than my jazz bass 5 which is passive. my warrior adam nitti is lighter than the jazz as well as my spear (both active). i have to sit w/ most of my axes or else i'm having problems before the end of the 2nd set.
i think maybe i need to look for an obs 5. those look really light and that is the one that initially struck my interest. |

And it is 34" scale w/ nitro finish

| | | | Nice bass - never could play a CallowHill, it seems to be a great instrument though - maybe I missed that: what's the string spacing at the bridge? And does it have a passive tone pot? |
